An adult Toastmaster certified coach will help prepare and monitor the sessions; however, the young participants themselves conduct the meetings. At each session, the participants learn:
- Speech preparation and presentation
- How to conduct meetings
- Effective listening skills
- How to evaluate and offer helpful advice
- Participate in and lead group discussions or meetings
- Conducting a Youth Leadership Program (fulfills one of the requirements for an ACG (Advanced Communicator Gold) Award
